Harecraig Level Crossing
Harecraig's level crossing, between Dundee and Broughty Ferry [just west of the former West Ferry station], was closed for a week while Network Rail carried out vital work to improve the surface.
The crossing works were carried out from 23:00hrs on Saturday 9 March until 06:00hrs on Saturday 16 March, with no access for pedestrians and vehicles during that time.
A new rubber crossing surface was installed to replace the existing timber one as well as renewal of some of the track features to provide better under foot conditions for pedestrians, making it easier to cross.
New solar lighting studs were installed to enhance visibility outwith daylight hours.
