Brondesbury

Brondesbury, looking east, on 9th March 2024. This was once on the Broad Street to Richmond line that nearly closed in the 1960s and has been part of London Overground since 2007. One of the original stations of the Hampstead Junction Railway opened on 2nd January 1860 as Edgware Road (Kilburn) going through several renamings before becoming Brondesbury in 1883. Rebuilt in the 1970s and 'modernised' in the 1990s, it really does need some more cosmetic surgery. In the background 378228, just departed for Stratford, is passing beneath the National Rail Chiltern Line and the LU Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines which run side-by-side at this location.
