![Immediately to the east of Lochearnhead station the line to St. Fillans crossed the road on a substantial bridge, of which only this east abutment remains although another bridge just beyond is still in place. ![West of Dalchonzie Halt this bow girder bridge carried the railway over the River Earn. The view is looking east towards Dalchonzie Halt in the distance. ![The girder bridge over the River Earn east of St Fillans at Tynreoch is now used for farm and forestry access. The trackbed then passes under a bridge that carries the A85 into St Fillans. ![The Crocodile Rock east of St Fillans Station was first painted by local youths over a hundred years ago and became a feature of the line for passengers to watch out for. ![For about half a mile east of St Fillans the trackbed is more like a riverbed and wellies are the order of the day if you wish to walk it. Otherwise you will share my experience of a scramble along some steep embankments involving a lot of unintentional sitting down and clutching wildly at flimsy branches. ![An unexpected hitch. Not visible on Google Earth as it is hidden in the trees, the steel span of this bridge near St Fillans has been removed for scrap. ![This is how I first saw Lochearnhead station in about 1995, an almost heavenly vision through mist and trees.
