Aberdour Line (North British Railway)

Aberdour station is a regular winner of the best kept station award. The station retains its station buildings, former signalbox and has well-tended platforms with flowerbeds.

Aviemore
Inverness and Perth Junction Railway

Following a major refurbishment this former Highland Railway junction station has been given a new lease of life. It is now the terminus for trains running north along the preserved Strathspey Railway to Broomhill and is served by regular ScotRail and GNER trains to Inverness and Perth. The northern signalbox remains open.

Barrhill
Girvan and Portpatrick Railway

Set in a remote location, above the village of Barrhill, this station retains an old world atmosphere with its semaphore signalling, signalbox and station buildings. The signalbox formerly stood at Portpatrick's main station.

Crianlarich
West Highland Railway

An island platform station in a small village in the Western Highlands. The station has a tearoom and shop building, goods yard, former signalbox and has recently had a new station building in a similar style to the original main building added. The locomotive shed here still stands.

Dumfries
Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle Railway

This station, re-built by the Glasgow and South Western Railway, is built in red sandstone. It has platforms with flowerbeds, glass canopies over the platforms and the canopied area of the former Portpatrick and Castle Douglas platforms. A signalbox remains open at the north end.

Glasgow Central
Glasgow Central Station (Caledonian Railway)

This is a large terminus in Glasgow. Most of the services run south, or on the south bank of the River Clyde from the station. The platforms are contained within two large glass trainsheds. The station has a large concourse and station hotel.

Insch
Great North of Scotland Railway

This station still features its station buildings, a level crossing and signalbox. There is a museum within the station building.

Maxwell Park
Cathcart District Railway

An island platform station with a canopied building. The station is approached by a footbridge.

Pitlochry
Inverness and Perth Junction Railway

A station with two station buildings, an operational signalbox, and wooden extensions to the platforms. The station has flowerbeds and an ornamental fountain cut in the shape of a bird.

Rogart
Sutherland Railway

This station retains its station buildings and former signalbox. There are camping coaches in the former goods yard.
