The first station here was a terminus of the line. It was called Garlieston. The line was later extended on to Garlieston, the station here being re-named Millisle. On extension of the line to Whithorn a new Millisle station was opened and the old one closed. There was a shed here which was both goods shed and engine shed. The station is now a house. There was a passing loop here and two platforms on the route to Whithorn, a single platform on the Garlieston route.
