The Forth and Clyde Junction Railway joined the Scottish Central Railway to the north of Stirling station by the banks of the river forth. There were North British Railway locomotive sheds on the east side of the line at this point. A shed to the west of the junction was used by the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway engines. The Stirling and Dunfermline Railway branched off to the east.
