This line runs through the east end of Greater Glasgow to Coatbridge.
From Rutherglen to Coatbridge and Airdrie.
At this west facing junction the line from Coatbridge joins the Clydesdale Junction Railway. Immediately east of the junction sidings branched off to the north, ran parallel to the line, turned north and then west to run to the Clydebridge Steelworks. These remained, out of use, until the 1980s.
