This freight line is in abeyance. I believe this line to have been a joint venture between the Caledonian Railway and the North British Railway. |

![]() Rothesay Dock Sidings from the air, looking west |
This area was once world famous for its shipbuilding, which has now declined.
From Scotstoun and from Yoker to Rothesay Dock.
(Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway)
A few sidings on either side of the line for marshalling trains from the Rothesay dock. Many more sidings existed existed on both sides by the Clydebank Shed.
Also known as Yoker Shed. This shed belonged the the Caledonian Railway and was a sub-shed of Dawsholm Shed.
This was on the Glasgow, Yoker and Clydebank Railway. From here a connection ran to a junction with the line from Scotstoun West.
The lines from Scotstoun West and Yoker merged here. The tracks then passed under the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway station at Yoker Riverside.
Rothesay dock before track re-instatement. There was a very large marshalling yard here.
The junction between the Scotstoun line and
the Yoker line is beyond the footbridge in the distance by the pylon. A spur
also ran to the dock sidings from the Lanarkshire
and Dunbartonshire Railway as it
ran beside the marshalling Yard. The sidings ran on from here to Clydebank Riverside
station. Some track remains embedded in the Tarmac of the roads.

These tracks were replaced with a single track running from Yoker yard. At the location shown here a loop was installed and the tracks ran onto the dockside as a single line. This has now also been removed.
