This line crosses a large part of England. It starts in Wolverhampton, north west of Birmingham, and runs south through the city and formerly industrial areas before running through farmed land to reach Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Worcester, Evesham and finally Oxford.
This station is closed but remains standing, albeit derelict and overgrown when writing in 2003. Some of its function has been taken on by the High Level station which stands immediately adjacent overshadowing it. The station buildings await a new function.
The station building is very fine, the platforms remain intact complete with canopies, the luggage lift towers and bridge remain intact and some trackwork is still present.
The site is cut by a road and wall at its east end. At the west end the ground has been levelled immediately outside the canopied area. There is a fine covered walkway from the station to the High Level station but it is presently fenced off.
