This line runs through farmed countryside to North Berwick, an east Lothian seaside town and holiday destination famous for its Law hill. The town is almost a suburb of Edinburgh because of its regular train service to Edinburgh.
This line runs between Drem and North Berwick. Stations remain open at each end.

Drem is a two platform station on the former North British Railway, now part of the East Coast Main Line. The North Berwick Branch starts from just to the east of the station. Between the station and junction there are loops on either side of the main line. The junction faces east, towards Edinburgh.
Dirleton
This station is now closed.
This was a short lived station used as the line was extended on to North Berwick.
This was a fairly substantial terminus, similar in style to Milngavie station, but with canopies all round two platforms. There was a large goods yard and sidings ran over the main road to the North Berwick gasworks. There was a signalbox to the south of the station and a locomotive shed. The station has been the scene of a few train runaways as the line runs steeply up from here towards Drem. The original station building has been demolished and only one platform remains, extended slightly further south than it was originally, but cut short at the north end.
A new small building is now in use and the line sees modern rolling stock and a frequent service to Edinburgh.
