This short line ran from Inverure to Old Meldrum across farmland. It served a works at Lethenty.
From Inverurie to Old Meldrum. The company approached the Banff, Macduff and Turriff Junction Railway before it was built so that the unbuilt line could be built as an extension of the Old Meldrum line - but it was not to be.
This station is still open on the ex-Great North of Scotland Railway from Keith to Aberdeen. Please see the entry for the GNSR.The track for the Old Meldrum line run parallel to the main running lines from the junction the Inverurie station. The orginal station was further south and when resiting was carried out this also shortened the branch length.
This station was provided for the small village surrounding the Lethenty Mills. A number of sidings led to these mills. A single platform still remains at this site although the building has been demolished. A level crossing gate also remains. The platform is intact but the trackbed is missing where it crossed a stream adjacent to the platform.
I have not visited this site.
The station yard is now in use by a Oil distribution company. The platforms and many buildings remain intact.
