Hull and Selby Railway

This line is open. At its western end the line connected with the Leeds and Selby Railway. The town of Hull was keen to have a railway connection to the town are port before the rival port of Goole. Initially there was to be a line between Leeds and Hull but this was built as two separate undertakings. The line was absorbed by the North Eastern Railway.
