Description of route

Top

From Elliot Junction to Carmyllie and on for a short distance to quarries.

Very little remains of the line. The line started at an east facing junction at Elliot Junction (where there was a station, which did not have any platforms on the branch, only on the main line) and ran north over the main road (where level crossing gates remain) to an Elliot station. From here the line ran further north and west, there was a long siding for a Metal Box factory (approached from a nroth facing junction) and the line continued north west through farmland. Little remains of the course of the line after the factory junction, one or two crossing gates only. The site of the station at Carmyllie is now a field and a few railway cottages remain.
