This line ran through an area of farmland with only a large town at Duns.
The line was single track from Ravenswood Junction
to Reston. The section between Reston and Duns was originally double track,
but was singled due to lack of business before its extension to Ravenswood Junction.
Ravenswood Junction
This was a junction on the double track Edinburgh and Hawick Railway. The junction faced east towards St Boswells. To the north of the junction the line crossed over the large Leaderfoot viaduct which still stands.
The location of the junction is difficult to find today as the embankment of the Berwickshire line has been demolished during construction of a new road. The embankment can be found a little north of the junction. The embankment of the main line is intact.
The site of this station has been landscaped.
This was a single platform station. The station building still stands today.
This station had a passing loop. The station building still stands. To the west of a roadbridge the platforms have been landscaped to form a garden, to the east of the old roadbridge is the current alignment of the road, and further east the remains of timber platforms.
This was originally a private station for the nearby Marchmont estate. Today the platform remains and the station building is in use as a house.

This station had a long passing loop and two platforms. There was a large goods yard . Until recently both station buildings remained intact. Unfortunately the westbound platform building (which incorportated the goods shed) has been demolished. Some traces of the platforms can still be seen.

This was an east facing junction on the North British Railway at Reston station. The former site of the junction and station can be descerned as there are sidings here today.
