Beardmore Shipyard

This shipyard is closed. The site has been re-developed. The fitting out basin has been infilled. The site is now occupied by the former private Healthcare International (HCI) hospital, now the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.

The shipyard was opened by William Beardmore to complement the Parkhead forge and Mossend steelworks, rather than simply making armour plating and guns for other shipyards.
