This station is closed. The site is in St Quivox, and two petrol sidings remain, out of use.
A line from Monkton and Prestwick joined here, the junction facing East. A number of colliery existed on this line.
Annbank was a five platform station. There were two platforms on each line - east to Mauchline and south-east to Old Cumnock. There was a further platform on a goods loop to the north side of the station, although the platform edge may not have been made up. This loop was taken out before station closure.
Today the platform remains although the two routes are now single track.
Tarbolton station had two platforms. There is a famous photograph of a locomotive producing an amazing amount of smoke and soot coming through here taken by Derek Cross.

Annbank to Cronberry

This large viaduct is on the line leaving Annbank heading for Drongan.

This station had passing loops. These were the only passing loops between Littlemill Colliery and Annbank, and Dykes Junction and Annbank, making this location somewhat busy. To the South of the station was a junction for a Colliery to the South, the Killoch Colliery line (opened in 1960) to the North and the line to Belston Junction. The signal box was located on the East side of the track at the south end of the station. Three tracks ran past the box.

The line is still open to the former Killoch Colliery. The site is no longer a colliery and is now used instead as a coal washery. To serve the colliery a new line was built in the 1950s from Drongan.

Little remains of this station. At the time of my last visit the foundations of a new house were being laid.

The site of this station is now a housing estate.
There may then have been two stations at Logan,
but these closed at an early date.
There may have been a connecting spur leading from the
GSW main line onto the Cronberry station at the point where the lines crossed.
The connection would have been for trains running from Auchinleck to Cronberry
that did not use the route through Lugar.
